The Van: How it Works
Our specially adapted van opens out to create a mobile stage, allowing us to bring professional artists and performances to places where people live, work and gather.
We bring the stage, sound equipment and our own generator. All we need is a suitable location, good vehicle access and enough space to set up safely.
A Stage That Comes to You
Festival in a Van is a specially adapted mobile performance space. When we arrive, the rear of the van opens to create a stage for live music, theatre, storytelling and other creative experiences.
The van allows us to bring performances into community spaces, outdoor settings and locations that might not have access to a traditional arts venue. Our team manages the setup and technical equipment, helping make the experience straightforward for organisers and welcoming for audiences.

What We Bring
Festival in a Van arrives with its own mobile stage, sound and lighting equipment, generator and experienced technical crew.
Our box van has rear doors and a tail lift that forms the performance area. We provide a sound system, microphones as required, and lighting suited to the performance.
Our team includes a sound and lighting technician and a driver who also supports stage management, artist liaison and health and safety.
This means we can bring a professional live arts experience to a wide range of locations without requiring a traditional stage or venue infrastructure.

What We Need From Your Location
To host Festival in a Van, we need a suitable, reasonably level surface where the vehicle can park safely and the rear doors and stage area can open.
The location must have clear vehicle access, with enough room for the van to arrive, position itself and depart safely.
We bring our own generator, so an external electricity supply is not normally required.
We will discuss the proposed location with you in advance to make sure it is suitable for the performance and expected audience.
The host organisation is responsible for audience coordination and management, while Festival in a Van is responsible for the safety of its vehicle, team and performers.
